Three cheerszh for jdrunk hishtory

I am late to Funny or Die's Drunk History videos but I bloody love them. The premise is that someone gets drunk and talks through a bit of history they feel more people ought to know about. Their ramblings are then acted out historical style by the likes of Will Ferrell, Don Cheadle, Jack Black etc.

Jen Kirkman's (below) is my favourite but Duncan Trussell gets an honourable mention for puking pineapples mid way through his tale of Nikola Tessla; "The electric Jesus".

Click here for an interview with the Drunk History makers. And yes, they genuinely are pissed as newts.

Notes on a scandalously brillo exhibit

My work and life chum Chris Vernon and Notes from the Underground (a bloody excellent online hub for all your creative, literary and fictional needs) are putting on a photography exhibition described thus:

'Photographer takes photo. Notes from the Underground puts this in photo book. Author picks photo from photo book. Author writes story. Designer turns photograph and story into a typograph. NFTU exhibits them then relaxes with a drink.

Ta da. The results are blurry gorgeous and will be hanging in the windows at Saatchi & Saatchi for the next few weeks; if you find yourself on Charlotte Street come and take a peek as they are F.A.B.

Or take a sneak preview and get more info here

You're welcome

Back from holiday. BOOOOO. Depressing stuff. I had a blindingly wonderful time which was only marred by my belief one night after six margaritas that I could and SHOULD sing Kiss by Prince at the karaoke bar. Insanely high-pitched caterwauling ensued and I am assured that my Grammy is in the post.

To dispel the post holiday wah wah wahs I give you ARMAGEDDON! We were talking about Richard Gere and the hamster rumour and my host recounted a story (which I'd already heard and retold to friends who said it was too preposterous to believe - suck it up doubters) about two gay guys in San Francisco who were having abominable fun times with some hapless gerbil; they end up in hospital with comedy injuries caused by the gerbil, a lighter and 'pockets of intestinal gas'. Click below for a recording of a radio news presenter trying to keep his cool while reading the story out. It's fecking funny.

Enjoy:

Hello Tree, Hello Sky

I was already a burgeoning cloud nerd before I came on this holiday but now that I am puttering through Gavin Pretor Pinney's madly delightful The Cloudspotter's Guide and pointing out the differences between a cumulus congestus and a cumuonimbus aka THE KING OF CLOUDS to my holiday chums I suspect that a life of full blown cloud nerdery is ahead.

Look forward to more cloud facts my friends. In the meantime, here are some nice fotes of clouds from the Cuba Gallery via Do The Wild Thing.

LIMITED WANG IN 24 CARAT BALLS

This has gone too 24cting far. Gold & Co; imaginatively named purveyors of decent products made cuntastic by plating them in gold have brought out their 24ct iPad 2. Of course it is limited edition and hopefully that means there are only so many gad awful wankers out there who would be such inescapable lifelong douche-chills as to buy one.

VOTE OWLS!

Cats have ruled the internet for pretty much ever now, I think it's time for a new king and having given due consideration to monkeys and tortoises, I am backing owls. They're cropping up all over the place at the moment with their intense eyes and swivelling action.

I first became aware of the rise of the owls when that asshole footballer booted one in the face during a football match (link), I got a bit distracted by various animals riding on tortoises (link, link) and that monkey riding a pig (link)  - but that's all a bit of a one trick riding pony. Then I saw that little owl that watches you (link) and another one taking a bath (link) and I was sold. I don't have much more to go on for my 'owls as new overlords of the internet' theory but I'll leave you with the transformer owl video and let you make up your own minds (owls FTW).

Aah bicycles

You seem to be on my mind at the moment but that doesn't mean we're about to enter any form of meaningful exercise-based relationship. I would rather like some of these bike chain chandeliers by Facaro though:

Drink driving

I went on my first ever grown up bike ride in London last week; it was by parts terrifying and delightful. Knowing how to drive definitely helped - if you ride a bike in London you should spend a day driving and vice versa to make each more aware of the other.

And obviously if you ride a bike in London, or anywhere for that matter, you'll be needing one of these leather booze affixers of delight by Walnut Studio (who make lots of handstitched leather bike accessories).
